Brrrr..it is still pretty cold here in New Hampshire the forecast is saying -30*below zero Saturday night.... but that's what you get for living in this area.....
Turbo had a vet visit yesterday, he as you know has Hypothyroidism and needed to have his levels checked. and he has had a lump on his back leg they biopsied. His Thyroid levels were where they expected them to be...( phewww) and the Lump that was going to be biopsied was diagnosed as a clogged sweat gland. that took alot of weight off my shoulder! so he now has a little stitch on his back leg where they cut it off...
During our visit The Dr. told me his eye is not good again and looks to be infected behind his eye in the socket, He has a tough time getting around and always bumping into something and getting confused. When We call him we notice he doesn't respond to our voices anymore we have noticed, his vet confirmed he no longer has much if any hearing at all.... when I call him he just sits and looks at the ceiling or wall.but as soon as I touch him his little curly tail wags like crazy! so now he is on 6 pills during the day and 2 at night and drops in his ears 3-4 times a day they are still so badly infected. The vet said he should have his ear canals removed but she said the surgery would be too much for him to handle. and he has his eye has to be treated 4-6 times a day...During our visit the vet talked to me that there is going to be a time we are going to have to think what is best for Turbo. She agrees now is not the time but we need to start preparing. we talked about how he still has a lil spunk in him when he wants to zoom around with the other pugs ans still goes crazy when I am patting him...he will lick and lick me until my skin falls off! his tail goes a mile a minute...he is telling me he is not ready to leave us....he has a lot of love still and still gets around...a few potty accidents during the day..but heck for a 12 year old pug? it is okay....he is worth the cleaning up. one thing we have noticed lately is that he snaps at Whitney. he does not want her touching him. I think he is sore and frail and just wants to be left alone and rest with Mommy...Whitney took it hard wondering why he snaps at her and not us....she now leaves him alone and wont bother him if he is resting...... when I hold him she will pat him and give him loves....
one of my best friends Cammy moved to Florida 3 years ago we worked at a hair salon for 5 years together...she flew up last week and stayed for 5 days...at her sisters house just up the road from us. we had a great time catching up while she was here and she will be return in May for her Step sons wedding....( her step son is getting married to Tori and Whitney's first babysitter! Makes me feel old!) Whitney took this picture of us just before she flew back home with the snow in the background to show her Husband who stayed back at home..... from what I hear it was 28* in Florida today..( is this true Ragus and Magnolia?) I guess Cammy brought you some of our chilly weather....!

You know what? There are a lot of families who wouldn't give Turbo the time you have given him. A lot of people would think he didn't have a "high enough standard of living" and would be done with him. He is a lucky lucky man to be living with a family who recognizes that he still has a ways to go and is still a happy pug. It's a lot of work, and I commend you all for putting the time in to him, he has the best home he could possibly have.
O poor lil OMT!!! He sounds like he still has a lot of LOVE to give! Your a great momma Leese!
I am glad you got to visit with your friend!
Sweet Turbo. We will be praying for him.
Hi! I read this post and dropped a few tears... I am glad Turbo has you and your family to take care of him. My pug was diagnosed with addison's disease (adrenal insufficiency), demodex, constant ear, skin and eye infections, was in a comma and lost both eyes... all during his first year of life. Now he is 3 and happy. I don't trade that for nothing. If your pug is happy - and he is, for sure! - then he deserves all the opportunities you can provide!
Poor Turbo!! I am so sorry for you guys. He is in a home where he is well loved so that is a wonderful thing.
That must be so hard on Whitney, he still loves her though.
My mom's dog does that sometimes too and it is to everyone but my mother.
Sweet OMT. I will absolutely dread coming to that part in my pugs lives, but you have done such a wonderful job caring for him that I have no doubt y'all know what is best for him right now. He sounds very happy and content!!
that sweet turbo. he is so blessed to have such loving family!
Oh my goodness...it was cold her last week but gee...nothing like you have! Does your friend like living in Florida or is it too hot for her in the summer?
I know where you are with OMT. Just love on him and whisper in his ear and he will know you are talking to him. Chichi got to where she didn't have much to do with us other than just want to lay around and get up to potty and eat. It's so good to know that you willing to do all this for him until he lets you know he's ready to go....Hugs to you all!
You guys are just fabulous with the love and care you give your pugs. It seems like pug owners especially treat them like absolute members of the family.
How do you guys manage that cold?
sweet Turbo. He's so lucky to have you all as his family. You give him so much love and I know he gives back just as much. I'm thinking of you guys!
Yes it's true, it's been very chilly here certainly not 30 below I can't imagine how cold that is.
