Papa came to visit today!

Papa came today! as I was sitting working on my Christmas cards I hear a knock on the door...The Pugs went WILD when they saw it was their Papa coming to visit! My father claims he was coming over to check out what I did with my Kitchen cabinets...But I really believe he had no intentions in seeing what I did...he just wanted to see his Grandoggers.

He was blown away with OM Turbos stinky breath...( told you it was bad...) Willow plopped down beside him and licked the sofa..see the dark wet spot beside my Father? Yep...this is all Willow does is lick the sofa....Her vet said it has to do with her allergies? humm? I think it is the suede taste she likes because she never does this on any other furniture in the house..but who knows.. anyway and Belle thought her Papa was a rock wall..all she did is clim up and down and walk all over him then found a comfy place up behind him on the sofa and snored in his ear while he worked on my laptop....

He often talks about wanting a little dog of his own. He loves his Grandoggers and takes them for walks and loves to sit and cuddle with them. At the lake during the summer he will come up to our camp and ask if he can take 1,2 or 3 of them for a walk...he also takes other dogs that are at the lake and walks them around. He loves doing this....one of these days when the time is right he may have a little fur friend to call his own...rather than taking a Rent a Dog....

I think it is good for the mental health to have a little fur friend around..they bring you so much joy, They greet you at the door after when you been out and about full of excitement, They bring you up when you are feeling down...just a great companion who loves you unconditionally... but now is not the time..when the time comes and the time is right there is a little puppy out there who will be so loved and happy to have him as a Human Daddy...as i am happy he is my Daddy...

Well...there is no turning back~ yep Here it is all finished after 3 LONG days of sanding and painting and staining....Remind me not to do this again for a long time...I need to get back into my house keeping...Boy my house is TRASHED. I totally neglected my house while I was painting my cabniets....but now it is all done and now I am back into the swing of house keeping and folding laundry..Blah...painting was way more fun!

Well that's it! I am glad I did it. It goes better with my style of the Rustic Country theme I have going on....
I have done this type of painting for a long time. I used to work for a woman and I did her entire home over. She likes the Distressed look and I did everything from Furniture, her cabniets, floors and ever her window shutters.. It took me a good year to complete her home. I had a portfolio on all my work but it got ruined in a flood we had last year.... I enjoy this type of work. I do a lot of this for my friends too...I guess folks I have a hidden talent I have never shared with you..Back when I needed a new sofa table I couldn't find one I wanted...so I went to Target and bought a new one and brought it home lugged it in the garage and beat the Cr*p out of it with a hammer and a few other heavy tools Brad had laying around and I painted it and applied a crackle paint to it and made it look old... So many of my friends get a kick out of me buying something new and then destroy it to make it looks old....I am so glad my Husband understands me..... Just call me crazy...Wes-n-Lani and Flip Flop Mom...just let me know when and I will be there! Just keep your husbands away!

OK...every year at this time I get into the "NEED A CHANGE MOOD" I have been wanting a new table for awhile now but it is not in our budget...sooo when the Pocket is tight.....

You buy Paint!

Most of you know I really am BIG into the Vintage Country look... I have been liking the Blacks with a Distressed look to it so I went to Home Depot..bought
*Black Paint
*Cranberry Color Stain
*Sandpaper
*Paint rollers and brushes
* gloves

so I ran home...Lugged my table out on the back deck and used my electric sander my Husband bought me last Christmas and sanded away at the table..............

Then when you use the sandpaper,Paint and stain....you get.........

see what a little sand paper can do...make a new chair look old and worn....I did all the chairs like this and distressed the table around the edges too......

Oh and did you happen to notice what is under the Table? Yep a Braided Rug! I did end up buying a new rug even though it cost me more than a new table would of I think....( EYEROLL) but once a Pug pees on a rug...they will continue to pee on the rug...then again the old rug I had there before was 5 years old....time to go! besides I really like this new one sooo much better!

Before I show you what else I am working on...I have to tell you I have the Best husband in the world for allowing me to do this to a Brand New Home ( if you call 2 years old new) I asked before I did ( after I gave it a lot of thought) He said Sure...I don't care I have faith in you..you will probably make it look more like you and if you are up for it...sure!

~In Search for the Perfect Christmas Tree~

Well like every year after Thanksgiving we get our Christmas tree...and we did just that today! We drove into Vermont to the Christmas tree Farm we go to every year... Click here . It was nice but yet sad. Tori told me last night that she did not want to go with us to find a tree this year. This was the first time in 14 years Tori did not join us...so instead Whitney invited her Best Friend Abby. It was so cold! The wind was Brisk and made your hands hurt. Abby was the only smart one to wear Gloves. We always stop at a Pizza place before we head over to the Tree farm and after Pizza we stop at Dunkin Donuts for Hot Coffee to hold onto to keep our hands warm and sip on to keep warm..The Tree farm offers Hot Cocoa and Hot cider but it is not the same as a D&D Coffee..once we got to the Farm we were greeted by Santa ( Whitney claims he is not the real Santa...I told her that it is Hard for Santa to be at one place at once so maybe he was one of Santa's Helpers) I noticed this santa had a Tattoo on the side of his neck? I guess Santa is getting Pretty Hip now~a~Days! Geesh!

~HaPpY Thanksgiving~

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I hope you all have full bellies!
We went over to my Parents house today and We decided to take just Willow this time. She has been the only one that has not had an outing in a long time...Turbo goes to Dunkin Donuts with me every Monday morning and Belle just went to the vet on Monday so today was a day out for Willow......each time I go to my parents I remember times of me growing up in that same house...My parents have lived there for as long as I can remember...maybe like 38 years ? So it is nice to bring my family there and see my kids hang out in what used to be my bedroom ( I can't say play anymore....they always correct me and say...Mum we Hang out now..we don't Play anymore) Funny... anyway it was nice. Just my family and a friend of my parents who lost his wife a year ago....( who was also someone special to my daughters she worked at their school for years and my daughters thought the world of her) My sister and her family couldn't make it this year due to her husband having to work. So we will see them on Christmas.

We are feeling a little stuffed after having Turkey,stuffing,squash, and I made a SweetpotatoeCasserole witch was really good...( Sorry Sandy No food pictures)

She really enjoys playing her claranet..she is getting ready to perform in her School's Winter Concert. Willow decided to keep pulling at my pant leg..........
Tori decided to take a quick nap on the floor.........

Whitney and her Papa played a game of Cribbage...as Mr "H" watches.( By the way..Whitney kicked her Papa's Butt)...she Won the game!
On our way home I really wanted a coffee so Brad and the girls ran into the store to pick up a few items we needed and he got me a Coffee..... oh it was soo good!

Oh No! Here we go again!

Yep...It is time to start parking in the Garage! This is what I woke up to this morning...Blahhhh!This is what my road looked like this afternoon after some of the snow melted off the road. The roads were pretty slick this morning...after I brought the Girls to school I went to Dunkin Donuts to get my daily Blueberry Coffee and a tea for my Husbands 90 year old Aunt. She lives just up the road from us and I bring her a Donut and a Tea every Thursday,but seeing how Thursday is Thanksgiving I brought it to her today. She looks foward to this treat. After my visit with her I decided to not go into work and just stay home and catch up on a few things I neglected the past few days... It was a good day to just stay inside. Once I finished up what I needed to get done I finally had some Me time...Then the Phone rings...it is the Funeral Home asking me if I was able to come in to work on someone......so much for my Me time! this is the reason why I am posting this at 12:30am! Geesh!Here is my road on my way to work ............

Yep , That's right! she now has Braces...and I am BROKE! 2 kids with Braces gets expensive!

You may notice her teeth don't look that bad, The reason why she needs braces is because she was such a thumb sucker she created a deep pallet that narrowed her upper jaw. She had to have a expander put in a few months ago and we had to turn it once a day with a special key( let me tell you...that freaked me out..I cringed each time I had to turn it I was so afraid of breaking her Jaw) when her jaw was wide enough the Orthodontist locked the expander in place. This allows room for her adult teeth to come in now having the extra space. The Braces are just keeping her teeth lined up while her adult teeth come in to avoid shifting....If we didn't do this her adult teeth would come out on top on one another and make a mess of her teeth...so now with a Mortgage payment for her teeth she will have a Million Dollar smile!
