vacation

we are off to Florida for a week tomorrow morning...we are going to the OCALA area ( where I went last month) I fell in love with that area...it is Horse capital! We have a a few Horse ranch tours set up for Whitney to enjoy..( her passion is horseback riding and showing) we have a few other day trips planned also... we are staying with my friend Cammy and her Husband and newborn baby( remember my post of Baby Aiden? when I went down for the arrival of him coming into the world?) that's who we are staying with... Belle is a little down and out tonight...she isn't too sure what to think of all the luggage near the front door.... and why Coal and OMT were hauled away in the car and we not with me when I returned....
Coal had to be a Brave Boy and go to the vet for Boarding while we are away on vacation. He is still on alot of medication from his intestinal illness 2 weeks ago, so having him stay at the vet he will get all his meds and the care he needs while we are away...

OMT is also joining his Brother Coal, OMT is on more medication than you can imagine...this poor Old man needs alot of TLC . He needs to be at the vet while we are gone also...he is old and frail ( he will be 15 on Feb 19th!) So he and Coal are sharing a run at the vet and can keep each other company all week by sleeping side by side and enjoy a good hardy Breakfast and dinner together...even get Potty walks together....they are the best of friends....

willow and Belle saying their good byes to Coalie-Boy

I had to wake OMT up for our trip to the vet. he sleeps a good 22 hours out of the day...he usually only wakes up to eat and I have to wake him to go potty...sometimes he will sleep right through potty time.. he is such a sweet old man. when we got to the vet tonight to drop him off he fell asleep while the tech was going over his routine and medications....

willow and Belle are missing their Brothers...but they will have alot of fun with their Papa and their Maltese schnauzer Cousin Kramer during the week... and Tori, Tori, sadly when we decided to go to Florida Tori did want to go due to not wanting to miss school and work, she also had plans to fly out to Florida next month with a friend to visit her Uncle but that plan fell through...so anyway Tori will be staying with her Grandparents while we are away and get out of school at 11:30 each day so she will be home all day until she goes to work at 3 so willow and Belle will have their Human sister during the day and their Papa in the Morning for Breakfast and then again in the evening for Dinner and Play time with their fur cousin Kramer....
I wont be bringing my lap top so Ill be back next week with pictures and updates!

we are back! with a little of EVERYTHING

This post is all over the place...it has been so long since we posted so I here is a little bit of everything!

we have been so out of the Blogging loop for a long time now. I apologize for my lack of posts...

we have been keeping busy...very busy. Just a few flu's, colds and Brad spent a few days in the hospital a little over a week ago due to Complications from his Diabetes, it has been such a long cold winter I think we are all starting to feel the effects of seasonal Depression! so we did something out of our minds and went to a Motley Crew, Hinder and Theory of a Dead man concert...it was sooo much fun, we had awesome end-stage seats and had the best time ever! even got to meet Theory of a Dead man and Signed Tori's Belt, Shirt and cellphone...we are getting to old for these concerts but we had alot of fun so we are off to see Shine-Down on Saturday with Tori and her Boyfriend. No wonder why Brad was admitted into the Hospital! haha

The snow here is just about gone...just a little where the sun doesn't shine much. We are in Mud Season now. I dread this time of year. the yard is so ugly with soggy brown grass, the Mud smells like Dog Poop....makes a mess of out house from the mud stuck on our shoes. The Pugs dont mind they are just loving that they actually can go out in the Pug yard and not get burried in the snow!

it was close to 50* today so Whitney thought it was a good day to bring the Pugs for a ride in Old Man Turbo's wheel chair..........

This was Coal's first time in OMT's wheel chair and he didn't want to get out!

so Whitney just pushed him around in circles in the driveway

Please...dont make me walk. I like it in here!

All the pugs get along pretty well.... Willow is very bossy of Coal and wont let him even look at her with out her getting an attitude with him... Coal wanted to lay in the sun spot with Belle But willow was turning her lip up at him just being bossy... she is so Bossy with him. Not sure why but he still goes about his buisness and could care less what Willow thinks.

Belle gets sick of them bickering and chased them both off so she could enjoy her sunspot in peace and quiet!

Old Man Turbo! this old man is going on Vacation in July! he is going to stay with his Special Foster Momma Carol ( Green Mtn Pug Rescue) in Vermont while we are away on Vacation to the Ocean in Maine. The other Pugs will stay here at home and have plenty of family members popping in and out on them while we are away....Im not comfortable leaving Turbo home. he is very old and has so many health issues so him being with Carol makes me feel better about leaving....

Turbo is going to split like a HotDog! he is such a huge Pug...he just has his throid levels checked and he is where he should be.....he is so puffy from his hypothyroidism. The vet wants him on his throid pills for the rest of his life...so this makes 6 pills total for him a day.

Willow and Belle watching for Daddy to walk up the walkway....

Guess what Monkey thinks of Pug therapy?

Sorry Mum....
good thing your Cute Monkey-face!

Willow with her Paws crossed

Belle taking pugnap

Coal ( aka Monkey) and OMT favorite place to rest is up on the top of the sofa....

Bull~Run is doing great ~ His farrier came to take off his winter shoes and put on his summer ones but it was so muddy it made it impossible for the Blacksmith to shoe him...besides it was pouring out..she she will be back next week to shoe him...along with the Equine Dentist to have his teeth Floated and the vet will be here to do a farm call to give Bull his vaccinations ... the good part with us having Bull...The Vet does Farm Calls....he will care for all the Pugs and our Cats here at our home. so the Pugs will be getting their vaccinations as well! yeah no more traveling to the vet with 4 Pugs!

coming to Bed Mum?

Bed time routine Pug Style!

This is what the Pugs do while I get ready for bed...they all line up at the end of the bed waiting for me to climb in with them....
believe it or not...Bradley and I sleeping in a queen sized bed with 4 Pugs is trickey...but we do just fine...now that the Pugs all have their own favorite spots for the night...
Turbo... up on my pillow hear my head
Willow...Between Bradley and I
Coal...at the end of the bed between our feet
Belle .... she is the floater. she will float around until she finds a spot that has not been taken. so each night we never know where Belle will end up...usually she climbs up on Bradley's belly and he lets her sleep on his chest all night...
Now that is a true Pug lover! I don't think I could let Belle sleep on my chest all night!

Shower lickers

after someone gets out of the shower....you know where to fine these 4 Pugs!!

Licking away at the water droplets left.... only if they had scrubbers on their feet and tongue...to help get rid of the shower scum!

I tried to snap a picture of them licking the door but each time I took a pic they stopped!
you all know me and my COACH addiction...look at my ( what Bradley call my Ugly shoes) new Coach shoes I bought yesterday! they match my Purse perfectly! GAH

Pugs Rule the Bed!

When we first brought Willow home at 8 weeks old we put her in her crate at night beside our bed. As she got older she learned what "Go Home" meant...and she would head right into our bedroom and into her crate and lay down and then we would lock it. Then Belle came along and she too was crated for a few weeks....That was until one night Brad said....Awww they are so cute...we should let them sleep with us....... Then we got Turbo......and Turbo is a very large Pug...a 33 Lb pug sleeping with Turbo is like sleeping with a Lab.
Bradley goes to bed way before me since he has to leave for work so early. As soon as he gets ready for Bed Willow knows...... she knows his bedtime routine and she is right there waiting for him to pick her up into bed with him ( Willow is Daddy's Girl ) so they snuggle in bed together until it is time I turn in for the night and when I do I bring in Om Turbo and Belle and get them all adjusted in the bed so there is enough room for everyone.( which is not much at all )
We have been thinking for a long time about getting a King size bed but I don't think that is going to make much of a difference seeing how all 3 want to be right up against you at all times.
Willow is up in Bradley's arm between us.....Turbo down at my feet under the covers and Belle is a floater...she floats her way around the bed through out the night.........

Last night. ( well....early this morning) I had a bad Scare. I woke up around 3:30-4:00am and noticed Brad was not in bed. I Tip Toed out in the living room and checked on the sofa...No Brad? I looked in Whitney's room....No Brad?( Whitney slept on our bedroom floor on my side of the bed sick with the stomach flu) I started to panic wondering where on earth Brad was! I yelled for him and I heard him mumble something faint....I turned on our bedroom light and he was laying on the floor on his side of the bed on the Pugs lamb skin bed! I was scared thinking he was having issues with his Diabetes and asked if he was okay. As I am thinking the worst and thinking if I need to call 911 he said.....No I am fine! The Pugs kept pushing me off the bed so I let them have it and I just took their bed......I said Oh Phew! I thought something bad happened to you and I was going to have to call 911! I adjusted the Pugs and finally got them in place and told Brad that I made room for him and he could get back in bed. He got himself off the floor and climbed back into bed...Just when he did his alarm went off for him to start his day.........

Poor Guy. what we do for our Pugs..... we even give up our warm cozy bed for them and take the cold floor on a smelly lambskin pug bed........ What a great Pug Daddy he is! But I am thinking deep inside he wishes he never invited the Pugs to join our bed with him....The crate was nice while it lasted.

Getting the word out HOT CARS KILL DOGS!

I was at the Gas station yesterday and I snapped this picture with my Cell Phone.....
They must be some sort of a dealer for these maybe? I am happy they are advertising this on their car to remind Animal owners to not keep their pets inside a Hot car with out proper ventilation.....I saw a Dog in a truck the other day at Walmart and the owner left the truck running to allow the Dog to have the AC on he must of been a work dog because the truck has a construction name and number on it...Nice to see they took the proper steps to make sure the Dog was kept cool inside.... I hope the owner locked the truck doors though!! If it is too hot I do not take my Pugs in the car at all....just not worth risking them getting over heated....yesterday was 90* and I worried about bringing Belle to the vet to have her stitches looked at.( she is getting sore, it is such a hard area to clean with all her wrinkles over her nose!!...) so I turned on my car and put the AC on to cool the car off before we left... She didn't really pant much so I guess she was nice and cool......

I need Pug Insurance!

Guess who?

Guess who is going to have surgery tomorrow morning???
Yep...Belle. As most of you know she is a loud and noisy breather. We learned back a few months ago that her left nasal passage is collapsed and her having such a flat face really makes it hard on her breathing. So tomorrow Morning she goes in to have a nasal wedge done to open up her nasal passages to help her breath easier.....

we and the vet thought it would be best for Belle to have her nose surgery the same time she has her patella surgery on her left leg but that is not until the end of summer and now that it is so hot and humid she really needs her nose done now. So tomorrow she is getting a Nose Job!Here is a video to let you hear how loud she is...she breaths like this all the time. This is mild compared to when she is hot...

Now for Willow.... The past 5 days she has had a VERY runny nose, sneezing ( both regular sneeze and the inverted sneeze they do) then last night we noticed she was really congested to the point where she couldn't breath out her nose, she has to breath through her mouth, as she slept beside me I could feel a rattle in her chest.........
I made a Dr. apt and the Dr. listened and examined her and found she has swollen lymph-nodes, a fever and her lungs are yucky ......her diagnosis is Upper Respiratory Infection. So here she is soaking in a tepid bath with her special Pug Bubbles ( to sooth her itchy skin) to help bring down her fever. She has not ate much the past 2 days....I am hoping once the antibiotics kick in she will be able to breath easier and will want to eat. ( I know when I am sick with a head cold being all stuffed up I hate to eat too ) I bet Willow wishes she was having the nose job done in the Morning with Belle to help her breath better. The vet said give it a few days for the antibiotics to take effect. The vet asked if Belle or Turbo have shown any symptoms as Willow, I said no not at all, I remembered and mentioned to him that Belle and Turbo both had UTI's last week and are both on antibiotics for that and he said the antibiotics probable helped then fight off the illness because Willow is very contagious.... He said before he performs Belle's surgery in the Morning he will check her over and if there is any question he will postpone her surgery if he feels she may have caught Willow' illness....
O.M. Turbo is the only one ready for the Lake this weekend...this is what he is going to be doing the next few nights...........Hopefully Belle will be able to come home from the vet and join us and rest inside with Willow....

O.M. Turbo really enjoys a good campfire!

Shedding~

I swear...My Pugs should be bald! They shed so much it is amazing that they still have fur. I vac my house 3-4 times a day along with my sofa. When I washed my bed sheets( all 3 sleep with us in bed) yesterday the lint trap was chuck full of Pug fur, SO much I could have my sister knit them a winter sweater! Fur is EVERYWHERE! I even found it in my kitchen Oven! What? I don;t even want to think of how much fur we have inhaled !
So today the sun peeked out for a short time and they all went out on the back deck and I thought...........
What a perfect place to brush them! so I get out the most amazing Dog Brush EVER.... ( I Love the King rubber brush!)

Look! This is just from Belle!
This is Turbo's........

and Willow's..........

This is Tori's.........
This is Whitney's! at least when I see a Pink strand of hair around I know who it came from.... The girls are having fun experiencing with fun colors in their hair. This is a semipermanent color that I put in for them......

Turbo and Whitney sitting on the front Steps waiting for their Daddy to come home from work....
