Belle did...now her little paws are Grass stained!

see her face? it looks good now with out her stitches..still healing thats why she has pink spots on her nose....in time the pink will turn back to black once the scaring fades away.....

Belle is home

Belle is home resting well, The vet said her left nasal passage was completely collapsed and she was only breathing through her right one....so I am so glad we decided to go ahead with the surgery...Her lip is sore from the removal of the lump that was some sort of an ulcer. Glad it was nothing serious! she is a trooper and is loved by the veterinary staff but, was ready to get back home with fer family, she is still a little woozy and off balance but did well with the anesthesia...
we decided not to go over to the lake tonight, we think it will be too much for Belle, if she has a good night tonight maybe we will head on over tomorrow for a few days. Besides Willow is still under the weather too.... so we will order take out tonight and stay home with the Pugs......

Belle Update

Keep your fingers and paws crossed...The vet just called me and has Belle in surgery as I write this for her nasal wedge. He found a Lump in her upper lip and thinks it should be biopsied. So I gave him the consent to remove it and have it tested.... It may just be a fatty deposit but just in case I want to be sure it makes sense for her to have it done now that she is already under rather than make her go through it again...... sighhhh these Pugs really stress me out!

Phew....now that the Vet removed the "Bump" he says it is nothing serious...it looks like it is a ulcer. They told me what kind but I can't remember for the life of me....so no worries what ever it was is gone now........ sorry to worry you all! She is out of surgery and they said her nasal wedge was a success and is resting and coming out if her anesthesia nicely.

Hello~ we are getting snowed in AGAIN today....I really need to escape this weather. we thought about going to Florida for a week back a few months ago and then decided to save our Money...but now I am really thinking it over again! WE NEED A VACATION WHERE IT IS WARM. So after feeling crummy from the view outside my windows my father sent me this link....Click here to view... Getting around~

Today Belle got around a little bit. She actually ran to the door when someone came. She looked a little funny but she did it! But for the most part she slept.... Mostly with her Brother Turbo...they love the Lambskin Bed they spent most of the afternoon on it. She did a good job eating breakfast..last night she ate her dinner laying down...

Each morning she likes to sit here in the kitchen under the sink and feel the warm air blowing out of our heat vent.....

Tonight I think she started to feel the pain. We had to start her PT today on her leg...when I brought her out to go pee she cried a little because she has to bend her leg to make sure she doesn't Pee pee on herself... Must of been a lot of work for her she dozed off shortly afterwards.

she started to whimper a bit so I got her Ice Pack and placed it on her incision.......It must of felt really good she licked my hand until she fell asleep.
Whitney placed a bed near the kitchen heat vent for Belle....


Here she is Hopping around...A lot of work to get to her bowl of water...Thirsty Girl! it is funny each time Belle goes anywhere willow is right there beside her. Like she is there for Support and guidance. She must know her little sister is under the weather.

Yea! Belle came home today!

The vet called around 9:30 to tell me that Belle was ready to go home anytime after 10:30am. so Whitney and I left the house a little early so I could stop to make a loan payment at the bank since it was on the way. We arrived at the vet ( still a little early but we were anxious to get her!!!) since we were early and the Dr has not yet signed the discharge papers the nurse brought Whitney and I out back and showed us the Operating room ( looks just like a regular OR !) and walked us to the Hospital room where Belle was. There she was all wrapped in a ball in the corner of her room with a Cone on her head. she looked so sad and in pain. she tried to get up as soon as she saw us and couldn't get up. Her leg was too sore. The Nurse took her out and set her on the floor and she hopped over to us on 3 legs...so cute yet so sad at the same time. I asked if I could pick her up and I could so I held her the rest of the appointment. she was coughing and like a choking cough and I asked why she was doing that and they said her throat is sore from being intabated and will cough for another few days. She shook the whole time I held her and they said a lot of the shaking and trembling is due to the pain. ( sniff sniff) the Doctor went over instructions and directions , we went over doses of medications she came home with 4 different medications...We now have a Pug Pharmacy! ( this will make another post....wait until you see this!) While talking with the Doctor my cell phone kept ringing...( I keep it on vibe thank goodness!) thinking what possible could be so important for it to keep on ringing?...so I ignore the vibing cell phone and go pay for Belle's Tune up.....not too bad I thought it was going to be a lot more than it was..I thought it was going to coast me $600.00 or more but it was $360.69! Pheww! So I guess the quote they gave me was for having both knees done...They want her back in 2 weeks to have her stitches removed and to see how her knee is healing and to see when she would come back in to have her left knee done. So as I am paying the bill my phone is ringing AGAIN! I am trying to hold Belle...find my credit card, sign papers,dropping my keys..The last thing I ws going to do was answer my Cell phone! Once we leave I get Whitney settled and buckled up. I place Belle wrapped up like a baby in her Snowman blanket on Whitney's lap and notice I had 6 missed calls on my phone...didn't recognize the number so I ignored it. it rang again? what the Heck so I answered it and what do you know....It was the teller at the bank I went to and she asked if I was missing a envelope? I said a envelope? why? I peeked in my purse and my Bank envelope was gone? hummm? I said ya It looks as if I am missing a envelope? I said it was a bank envelope from another bank right? she said ya with $200.00 in it ? Man I can be such an airhead! I left the envelope from the bank I withdrew money from to pay on a loan we have at another Bank at the tellers window...man how stupid? I ran back to that bank and Thanked her over and over and explained to her why I was in such a hurry...I wanted My PUG! lol
Good thing I paid with my credit card other wise I would of been S.O.L!

There was a 2 hour delay today from School due to bad weather and Whitney woke up at her usual time for school. I told her she could go back to bed for another hour or so but she decided to stay up and lounge around. Since there was a delay I called Brad home from work to sit with Whitney while I drove Belle to the vet. Tori would of sat with her but I let her enjoy another hour of sleep...while I was at the vet with Belle this morning Whitney drew this picture on her white board.
it is of Belle sick at the vet in a bed....the little black circles are of the snowmen on Belle's favorite blanket that went along with her to the vet....I was told by the Vet that Belle will need to be bed ridden for awhile so I went out and bought her a new bed for her "old crate" she used as a puppy for house training. I saw this cute Purple soft Pillow and knew it would fit perfect in her crate ...if you click the picture you will see a cute Pug on the tag.... Hummmmm big problem....Here sits Willow checking out what I thought was going to be Belle's new recovery room....Now remember...Belle is way bigger than Willow...Not much room in there huh?
Now What?? I go back down in the basement...No crate? run out in the cold to the Garage...no crate? Hummm strange I could of sworn we had another one??? DUH??? you fool thats right...I gave it to my father for his new Puppy Kramer! Duh...what and airhead I can be....

so after realizing there was no way Belle would of been comfortable in her tiny baby crate I decided to go out and buy one for her...I know she will be having another surgery again soon so this was no big deal for me to get this one...I know I will get my moneys worth out of it...and heck who knows we may just get another Pug Puppy some day? No? yes?

love this crate! although putting it together was a disaster...I thought I was going to throw it over the deck into the big snow pile and let Brad run it over with the Plow Truck! it came with lousy directions Step 1,2 and 3! ya right! Not that easy...I wish I had a video camera taping my behavior while trying to figure the stupid thing out! My girls were rolling around laughing at me! I really thought I was going psycho! I gave up and as soon as Brad came home from work I told him what I have been trying and he said...oh like this? and OMG he put it right together in 2 seconds! What? Duh there was a tiny little button on each end and you push them and pull...Um? the directions from what I saw...then I read the fine print and what do you know...there it was ! Geesh I give up! anyway...I hope Belle enjoys her her Recovery room when she gets to come home!

All Packed for the big Sleep-over... all her necessities...harness,leash,mediactions...also her snowman her favorite blanket.....

This morning I dropped Belle off at the Vet at 7:30am for her to have her knee surgery done to fix her Luxation Patella. Today they are doing her right leg because it is worse then her Left one. She will have her left knee done at another time. I hope this surgery helps. The Dr said it is a 90% fix....I hope so. This can get very painful having her knee slip out of joint she falls down a lot while walking and cries ..I mean CRIES!! she has had this going on long enough so it is time to get it fixed. She will be sore the next few days. But better than having her knees slip out of joint 1-3 times a day then having to drag her leg behind and in pain.

Another reason why I decided to get their Paw Prints tattooed on me...when They are not around they are always on me.......

:UPDATE:

The Vet just called...Belle is now out of surgery and starting to wake up from her anaesthesia. She has some blood tests done before surgery and they all came back negative. She also had her ears cleaned, nails trimmed and Bless her hear she had her anal glands expressed...( I bet she will be happy to know that that did that while she was sleeping.) when I bring her to have that done she walks out of the exam room like she is embarrassed. so as of right now things are good and went well. In fact her right knee was really bad and they had to do a lot of carving to allow her joint to stay intact with out slipping. They tested her left knee and they said she will need to have that one done too. But at a later date to allow her right knee to heal. so maybe in the spring. Poor little Bug...I hate to have to see her have to go through this all over again. But it makes sense to do one at a time so she can get around easier. She will be there over night and may be able to come home tomorrow!

What a MESS!

Well I took down our tree yesterday...I get all stresses out from the mess it makes...everyone cleared out of my way knowing I get cranky when I do this each year. Not sure if it is becasue of the mess it makes or it means the Holidays are all done....I really think it is due to the mess..... See what I mean? I guess it is to be expected seeing how we cut this tree down the day after Thanksgiving...it was pretty dry and dead so I knew it was going to be a big mess...all the way through the house to the back deck.........

Here is where the tree stands for now. ..on the back deck. OM Turbo thinks it is his own personal Potty tree....
Aww...much better all cleaned up and time to bring back the sofa so the Pugs can have back their favorite spot to watch the world go by........

As you may remember I mention a few posts ago that Belle is having nose surgery on her Birthday ( which is tomorrow) we had to cancel that today after learning she has a bad case of Patella Luxation and needs surgery for that before her Nasal wedge Surgery A few months ago (click here) that belle injured her right knee by jumping off the sofa...then after a few weeks of healing she did it again after another few weeks of healing she injured herself again 3 weeks ago. Today I brought her into the vet due to her losing her balance and falling over often while she walks for the past couple of weeks, she can't jump up on the sofa anymore and has a hard time with stairs. During her checkup the vet diagnosed her with a bad case of Patella Luxation on both knees. to the point where surgery is needed. so she goes in On Next Friday for one knee then will have her other knee done on a different date. you may see how she is sitting in the picture above..she can't tuck her leg up underneath anymore it must really hurt her so I hope the surgery will be a success and make her comfortable again. Only if I knew this was the problem I would brought her to the vet sooner.....stay tuned for Belle's 2nd Birthday tomorrow!

Belle's take out.......

Belle decided to turn Willow's Food Crock into a Pug Take out restaurant for her and Willow and Turbo..............She walks up and drags her Paw and drops the kibble to the floor.......her Pug take out restaurant. I have had this crock full of food for 3 years now...she never once ever tried to sneak food out if it until the other day... I think she is feeling the side effects to her new diet her Vet has her on...This new trick of hers is not going to help I think Turbo and Willow are enjoing this new Trick of hers but I sure am not!.....
